What do I love about NMA?

I love serving with like-minded people who are dedicated to the preservation and future of our industry.  Relationship building is often either over-looked or set aside in so many industries today, including mortgage.  I see the NMA as a way to embrace relationships and create a place where doing business with people is more important than anything else.

What do I love about NMA?

The NMA gives the Nebraska mortgage industry workforce one voice for local, state and national governmental legislators.  I also appreciate the chance to meet and work with other mortgage professionals in our state.   This is good for our industry as we can then use each other as resources to best meet the needs of all our customers.

What do I love about the industry?

I love making a difference in the lives of the communities, families and individuals we serve.  Home ownership is a fundamental building block of individual wealth.  Homeowners are also more likely to invest in the community they live in, therefore we are also impacting the communities in which we live and work.  It is a privilege to be a key part of making home ownership possible.

Alan Loos - West Gate Bank

What do I love about NMA?

I originally started to attend Nebraska Mortgage Association events for two main reasons.  These are the opportunity to network with other mortgage professionals and the opportunity to learn and grow my mortgage industry knowledge.  I have worked with banks and credit unions throughout my career but at the time, I was new to mortgage lending.  The Nebraska Mortgage Association has truly fulfilled my early reasons for participation in the associations activities and continues to do so.  In my role on the NMA Board, I have found a greater interest in advocacy for our industry and wholeheartedly support the associations role in recognizing mortgage lending excellence.  Mortgage professionals are a great group of people and very talented.

What do I love about the industry?

My role in the mortgage industry is a little different than many members of the Nebraska Mortgage Association as I am not a lender.  I view my role as one that assists lenders to provide their borrowers with options and solutions for their mortgage need that are unique to each person or persons.  It is extremely rewarding to help a lender achieve success as this success is directly related to borrowers who achieved their homeownership goals.

What do I enjoy doing when taking a quick break from the Spring Market?

I am a huge Husker sports fan but have found in the past couple years that my grandchildren are a more enjoyable diversion for me.  I don’t know who originally said the following statement, but a good friend of mine shared it with me.  “If I would have know that grandchildren were so much fun, I would have had them first.”  No disrespect to my children intended.  I’ve also found that golf can be pretty enjoyable way to spend a few hours on a 75 degree spring day.
